DEVELOPING CONVERSATIONAL SKILLS THROUGH DRAWING

Conversation is an art. Drawing is also a form of art. These two are combined to develop another skills which are Conversational and Communication.

Conversing, talking, and other conversational skills are achieved when a learner sees and perceives something that she is going to explain or discuss. As a trainer, ONLINE and offline, I found it really interesting and exciting to use the DRAWING METHOD in developing the aforementioned skills. Learner finds it easier to talk and to use the English language during the execution of the drawing activity and after finishing the activity.

As an educator, I always try to innovate something new to help learners achieve their goals and mine as well. This DRAWING METHOD  is absolutely a new idea from me. And I'm sure there's no other educator all over the world who has applied this method in ESL.

I searched the internet today, December 17th, 2011, to check if other educators have already learned to use this method or have already discovered this, but I haven't found anyone. As an evidence, I have included this research link to prove to the whole world that this method is one of my INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY.

TEACHING CONVERSATION SKILLS ONLINE

Teaching Conversation Skills Online is one of the primordial tasks of the BRIDGES&BLITZ Online Training & Tutorials. Teaching learners online could be difficult if an online teacher doesn't know the appropriate methods and approaches to teaching.

The BRIDGES&BLITZ methods and approaches to teaching include Visual Strategies. Through these strategies, we are able to motivate our learners to talk, and to use the English Language in explaining, discussing, arguing, and in many other conversation skills. Here are some tips on how to teach Conversation Skills through the use of Visual Strategies, http://sharepoint.leon.k12.fl.us/fdlrsaten/wakulla/Shared%20Documents/Six%20Tips%20for%20Teaching%20Converesation%20Skills%20with%20Visual%20Strategies.pdf.

Conversation with a student online becomes easier when we talk about things within the schema of the learner. Here, we apply the Schema Theory as developed by R. C. Anderson, and was first introduced by Piaget in 1926. This will help you understand more of what we call Schema Theory.... http://www.sil.org/lingualinks/literacy/implementaliteracyprogram/schematheoryoflearning.htm.

This Schema Theory is just similar to Core Knowledge Theories ... http://www.rci.rutgers.edu/~jhudson/coreknowledge.html. Without the basic knowledge, a learner will have difficult time understanding English, and will never learn how to use the English Language properly and fluently.

This photo shows that one of our students online is showing her visual to me while she's explaining what this is, and what joy she gets from it. Visual aids and concrete objects really facilitate online learning

PRETTYJEAN: YOUR LIVE ONLINE ESL TRAINER-TEACHER-TUTOR!

Taken on Dec. 22, 2011

I started teaching when I was only in grade one when my teacher entrusted me to teach writing and reading to my classmates. I never thought that at a young age I had started training myself to be a real trainer and a teacher. Even when I was in high school, I was always asked to do substitution classes when my teachers were absent. Instead of taking the final periodical exams, whether the tests were on science, math, English or home economics, my teachers assigned me to be my classmates' proctor. When I was in college, same things happened. I even substituted a college professor for teaching Analytical Calculus. Oh my!.....of all subjects..not that I hate math, but what's Analytical Calculus?...I was not even an engineering student...I was just a BSE, Major in English student that time. But alas!.......it was fine..There was also a time when I was still a college student that I replaced my Filipino 2 professor. That means I taught Filipino 2 which was Philippine Literature to my classmates the whole semester. And my professor just came over during our final exam which I also organized and prepared.

When I earned my Bachelor's Degree, and graduated with the highest honor from college, my alma mater absorbed me to be one of the college instructresses. When I finished my MA, I was hired by one of the prestigious colleges here in the Philippines as an Academic Director, and a Curriculum Developer. I always seek for challenges, so when I saw the opportunities of becoming a head teacher, a trainer, and a hiring officer at an International School, I grabbed the chances and never slipped them through my fingers.

Seven months and seventeen successful teaching years have passed, here I am, as I said a master of my field, English Language Teaching and Testing, and have earned lots of certificates in ESL training, women empowerment and development from various schools and organizations after which made me completely engaged myself into educating and training people. I put up my own training centre in 2006 which affects my life and my teaching career in colleges and universities tremendously. Since I formulated a learning concept and model when I was in my graduate school, I never stopped just to be a teacher or a university professor or any of those positions that I handled, I continued developing myself until I have discovered this opportunity of putting up a NEW TREND IN DISTANCE EDUCATION WHICH I DUBBED AS LIVE ONLINE TUTORING, TRAINING, AND TEACHING.

Online tutoring these days does not ONLY pertain to a distance education, or email tutoring, or does not only confine to any websites that offer learning and teaching materials or home tutorials, and tutors to get help through emailing, but also ONLINE TUTORING means having a LIVE ONLINE TUTOR  / TEACHER OR TRAINER ......that's PRETTYJEAN....... who HELPS YOU SOLVE YOUR ACADEMIC PROBLEMS RIGHT THERE AND THEN, and ASSISTS YOU IN DEVELOPING and ENHANCING YOUR PERSONALITY, CONFIDENCE, COMMUNICATION, THINKING, INTELLIGENCES, and EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS! So, when you need an academic, language, educational, or even personal assistance, just call me, and I'll be there together with my team to help you and guide you through your dreams.
